Talk:Main Page

Although based on history, ASL's structural philosophy is one based on the 'design for effect' principle.

This means that game mechanics are often abstracted at the practical level (sometimes seeming to defy common sense)for the sake of end results. Certain components- such as residual firepower- don't seem logical when considered alone, but the payback is more evident when taken in context with other elements. All game rules, playing pieces and applications should be viewed holisticly for better understanding.

Was this intended to be actual content? The "discussion" or "talk" pages are usually a page for us to discuss what goes in the actual articles rather than for content itself. NOS 18:25, 2 September 2006 (BST)

Yes- Like I said, I am a 'wiki newbie'

maybe add a section on 'design concepts' ? - PEte.

I whipped up an intro to ASL type article, and I threw it in on the end there for now, if you want to keep on with it. NOS 22:20, 2 September 2006 (BST)

Should there be mention of Starter Kits in the "The system is comprised of [..]" list? -neoex-

Scenarios

Would it be useful to create pages for each scenario to be filled with general strategy discussions regarding the circumstances of each scenario? Not fill it with AARs, but rather a tactical overview of what each side is trying to do along with what seems to work?

Of course, there's no reason why not. I'm finding it hard enough to get overviews on the scenario archive site, but if input and discussion can be encouraged then why not? --Dave 19:49, 14 October 2006 (BST)
